What is causing me so much pain after my extractions?

I had 4 teeth pulled 6 days ago, 3 on top and bottom wisdom tooth. The day after my extractions, I really didn't feel any pain. The 2nd day after up until now I have been in excruciating pain. I went to my dentist they said I looked like I'm healing fine, I didn't have dry socket and it didn't look infected but they went ahead and packed it to help with the pain. I have a visible bone showing. I've done everything I'm supposed to do. I don't smoke, or drink carbonated drinks or through a straw. I usually handle pain well but with this situation its about drove me crazy. When will this end???
