Still Feeling Pain After Root Canal!!!

Hello i am new to this site but heard about it from a friend so i thought i would give it a try as i need help.

About 3 months ago i started to feel really really bad pain in one of my top front teeth. (it was unbearable at times ) After going to the dentist about 5 times each time being told different reasons why i was having this pain, One being I bite down while sleep!? Finally decided i needed a Root Canal. After having the RC done i was happy that the weeks of pain where finally over BUT i started to feel pain/pressure in the tooth next to the one I had just had the RC done on. when i tap or push on the that tooth i feel pressure, pushed at a different angle pain. Even after he had done the RC on the tooth that was hurting still didn't not feel right, now BOTH teeth feel pressure if i touch them and i get a pain if u eat anything hot in the tooth the RC was done on. I have been back to them and they could not find a problem the tooth that the RC was done on hurts when I eat hot foods and I can feel pressure even now and I am not touching it. I also hurts to bite down on after hot foods.

i just want to get rid of the discomfort its driving me mad.

Help Please

Then, I would take scottma's advice, and get a referral from your dentist or from your regular physician to go see a orofacial pain specialist.

The pain you're experiencing could be a nerve disorder that might not even be dental related.  You had a root canal on one tooth and the pain jumped to another tooth for no apparent reason.

I wouldn't do any more dental work or pull any teeth, until you see a specialist because the pain could travel to a different area of your mouth.

Please keep in mind that dental pain is not always dental origin. If there is no clinical or radiographic pathology of a painful tooth, heterotopic pain needs to be ascertained. Seeing an orofacial pain specialist is advised.

I think what your dentist means when you bite down when you sleep is that you clench your teeth when you are fast asleep.

If I were you I would wear a mouth guard, because when you clench/grind your teeth when you are asleep, your jaw ends up in a lot of weird positions.  I actually bruised the nerve of my canine tooth due to my clenching.
