tongue numbness, is there any relief

I HAD MY WISDON TOOTH ON MY RIGHT SIDE PULLED 20 YEARS AGO AND WAS LEFT WITH MILD RIGHT SIDE NUMBNESS TO MY TONGUE,  LATELY IT'S GOTTEN WORSE,  MY TONGUE FEELS AS IF I BURNED IT,
I OFTEN FEEL LIKE MY TONGUE IS SWOLLEN AND I GET TONGUE TIED UNABLE TP PRONOUNCE (S) WORDS
I FEEL SOME RELIEF WHEN I STICK MY TONGUE OUT AND LET IT HANG LIKE A DOG.  I'M TAKING NEURONTIN BUT IT REALLY DOES NOT HELP.  IS THERE ANY HELP FOR ME CONVENTIONAL OR ALTERNATIVE?

Although you've had this since the removal of your wisdom teeth, and is getting worse  I would see a specialist to rule out other conditions.  Obviously your medication isn't working so you may want to go back to the Doc and discuss your issues, don't let it go any longer.  A lot has changed in 20 years, maybe there is a better alternative for you.

Since you taking neurontin, you probably have seen a neurologist already. You may need to see an orofacial pain specialist to investigate underlying pathology.If no systemic or local condition identified, switching to other medication may be helpful.
