Don't hesitate to contact a local American Legion or the DAV web site for advice and assistance.
I am a veteran also. Please contact the nearest VA hospital for help. You may not have a disibility at this time, but there is a patient advocate office to assist you in pursuing what avenues of help are available. They also have the means of helping you get a copy of your dd214. The personnel center is in St Louis. That is where I get the last information I needed. Please write back.
I am not sure if i can say anything that will make you feel happy again. but I am sorry for you as i believe that if you served for a country they should look after you. I think they should have your health and housing all taken care so you don't have to pay for that, since you put your life on the line for us. But i know it doesn't really work like that, I think that you defiantly need to see a doctor and a psychologist. It ***** to feel so miserable and think death is the only way out, but the thing with depression and PTSD ( if you have that) you can feel better and life can be better again. sometimes it is helped with medication and sometimes it is helped by therapist but when you have depression you cant fight it by yourself, it is a physical change in chemicals in the brain it is not something you can just talk yourself out of, so you NEED to get some help, if you family is understanding talking to them can help and they can support you in your treatment.
If you feel you need help immediately with suicidal thoughts etc please go to the E.R straight away, know one there will judge you there, they are there to make you feel better.
I really hope you feel better soon and can find enough money to get some help, maybe your family/friends can help with money. I am not sure if state has somewhere for free for for soldiers. maybe have a look online or ask around at a doctors or something.
