Bactrim does the same thing to me. It's really hard on the stomach. If you absolutely must take it, try taking acidopholus pills during the day as well as something like pepcid, zantac or prilosec.
Ambien isn't the best medication to take for sleep either. It interferes with normal sleep cycles such as REM sleep. While you think you had a good night's sleep, you really didn't because your brain didn't get the full rest it needs. That alone can cause major depression or worsen it.
It's time to talk to your doctor and make some changes to your medications.
No appetite = depression, go back to your doctor.
COULD THE ANTIBIOTIC 'BACTRIM' BE ONE OF THE CAUSES ?? I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY NUTRITIONAL STATUS !! PLEASE ADVISE, THANK YOU.....
Well,
Ambien is sedative and while sedated I would not expect a normal appetite but more an increased digestion function as the parasympathetic nervous system is most likely to take over the sympathetic nervous system which makes you calm due to the nature of the drug itself. While this may be one option, vitamins could also reduce you need for food. Maybe it is stress related? Depression related?
You have many options here. The best thing would be to talk to your doctor.
