Yes, see a doctor. You may have a thyroid or vitamin problem or you may need an anti-depressant to lift you out of it. Or the doctor may recommend a therapist for you. There is help for you.
Specialmom gives some good advice. I'd definitely agree the first step is to treat the underlying cause. If it is depression, you'll want to find some professional help so you can learn some techniques to deal with your depression symptoms and identify triggers and early warning signs.
As someone who's suffered depression here and there throughout my life, I suggest: make yourself get out of bed. Set that alarm, go to bed and tell yourself you will get up at that time. Sleeping too much lends toward worse depression. Also, make yourself get out there and do things. Try to hang around friends. Listen to happy music. Watch films that make you happy or laugh.
You're not going to feel like doing it. Trust me, I know. It's hard as heck to go against what depression naturally lends toward you doing, but it's for the best.
Good luck!
Hi there. Well, do you think you are sleeping do to lethargy from depression? If that is the underlying reason, being proactive in treating your depression is the first step. This involves forcing yourself to get out the insurance card, making some contact and setting up an appt. with an approved doctor or therapist (start with either).
One thing that really helps me is to make a list each day of what I HAVE to do and another list of what I want to do. I make sure the haves are real . . . as in I MUST do them. And then the list of wants are ongoing and I try to do one thing each day.
Sometimes it becomes a cycle. And if we push through it a bit, we break the cycle. This could be where you are at. Push a bit to get out of this 'spot' you are in.
Do you have anyone you want to connect with? call them today and set up lunch, dinner, a walk, or just talk. Put it on your MUST do list.
good luck
