Specialmom always gives the most sound, best advice.  If you listen to anyone on here, her advice is good to read a few times and let it sink in.

With medicine and their side affects, it seems as if everything has a potential side affect.  It is the pharmaceutical company's job to mention all of them, just so you know what you can POSSIBLY expect.

(I take a couple of meds.  One in particular, the possible side affects looked way worse than what I thought I was dealing with.  I am affected by 2 of the "more common but less severe" side affects.  I am thirsty more and rarely, rarely, rarely get a touch off balance.  It is listed as 'slight off balance".  With that said, I'm a clutz anyhow so nobody notices.  LOL)

What you have is treatable.  It is worth taking the medicine as prescribed.  It is worth keeping in touch with your doctor and it is also worth probably seeing a therapist to find the root of what's happening.  It could really just be a chemical imbalance, but it might be something else.  Check into it, and don't let this ruin your marriage.

Hi there.  Well, in my heart of hearts, I don't like to hear of anyone suffering from depression or PMDD or any other mental health issue to the point of it affecting their relationships.

Medications these days are fairly well tolerated.  No one should entering into them expecting zero side effects but in reality, it typically is nothing like the literature presents about the medications.  Remember, they have to include everything with that including very rare side effects.

Typically an SSRI will have some start up side effects which are transient in nature.  This means you will experience them early on and then these side effects peter out.  If you are worried about this, you can talk to your doctor and titrate up slowly which tends to lesson the side effects.  (take a lower dose for a week or two and then increase it to the prescribed dose).

I feel like living with a mental health issue is no way to live.  Treating the root issue can result in a better situation for you and thus makes taking the medication well worth it.

Many take the medication  you mention and do quite well on it.  I wish you lots of luck dear
