You already know what you need to do for yourself. Say no more often. You have to take care of yourself first or you won't be able to be there for your husband and son. Make an appointment to see a counselor or Psychiatrist.

I completely understand, unfortunately when depression hits it is the closest persons in our lives who feel the effects. My solution is to get help as best as possible PLEASE. Talk therapy does wonders and if you can't afford it attach yourself to a religious setting and they will provide counseling. I urge you to do so because I have seen it happen countless numbers of times. Your son needs you and so does your husband. You don't want him to grow up feeling lost as if you resented him. If this makes you feel worse I deeply apologize I am just trying to save you from a heartbroken future. It has happened to a friend of mine, she is depressed and she takes it out on her children and husband, her two little girls wants nothing to do with her and all she and her husband do now is fight. Nip this in the bud. It is in no way easy, it is hard work but it will pay off.

Also, do this for you, do not waste your life. I know that sometimes medication can increase bad feelings or just make you feel numb but after awhile your body warms up to it and does what it is supposed to do. Please take care and good luck. Keep posted, the support here is awesome.
