Peeling Lips

I have peeling lips on the outside and inside.  I also get a sore on the inside of my nose which comes back all the time.  I saw an ENT dr, my dermatologist, my internist, and none can figure out what it is.  I use vaseline on my lips and chapstick and even some lipsticks make it worse.  No one can figure out what causes this.  I think it is something in the ingredients of lipstick or toothpaste.  Anybody else have these?  Thanks, KYkitty.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

I suggest you start changing your toothpaste (the ones with no or less fluoride ).Also, use only lip colors derived from organic ingredients. They may cost more but they may not bring about the reaction that the regular ones may cause.

Have you had skin testing done by an allergologist? I suggest that you do.

You may be experiencing contact dermatitis or an allergic reaction to certain chemical substances and food.Do you smoke? if yes, I suggest that you also gradually taper this off as smoke contains irritants that may aggravate your condition.

What medications are you taking?

Discuss with your physician if oral antibiotics may be indicated. As some of these skin conditions may have an underlying bacterial infection which may delay the healing process.
