Atopic Dermatitis and vitamin deficincy?

A few years ago while in college, I went to the student health center for a bad "rash" on my ring finger which had been continually getting worse over the past few weeks. This rash began as a bunch of little ***** blisters, which itched like crazy and would get red and sore after scratching them. They diagnosed me with atopic dermatitis and gave me some extra strength cortisone cream.

Since then, I've had a few small blisters here and there, and a few scabby, itchy rashes which I suspect are related to the dermatitis, and I've been able to control them with the  cortisone cream. My question is, is there a connection between dermatitis and some kind of vitamin deficiency? When I was diagnosed they said it was from stress but I'm not overly stressed right now so I'm not sure why I'm still getting these. Any suggestions or help here would be great! Thanks!

(By the way, I saw some vague references to vitamin D deficiencies and pregnancy on google, but I am definitely not pregnant.. although I am female. Don't know if this matters.)

That's true, but I haven't had reactions to any of the other jewelry I wear, and I'm pretty sure more than one piece is made of similar materials. Anyway, thanks for the advice!

I never had any skin problems until I was 43. Until that point people used to comment how fast I healed from cuts.
Your body changes constantly. Nickel is in a lot of jewelery and is usually the culprit.

I wear jewelry but I have never had a reaction to it that i can tell (save that now i get outbreaks under the one ring i wear, but i think that's just because the skin underneath gets dry...and this only started happening recently, but I've been wearing this ring for months). The cream I meantioned above I only use when it gets really bad. Otherwise I use aloe vera to remoisturize it, or an OTC cream.

A lot of people have allergies to metal. Do you still wear jewelry? Eczema can be related to allergies. There is no evidence that supplements will help. They have no idea what causes eczema. Be careful using cortisone, the more you use it the more you need to use it. Eventually you will need a stronger prescription. The skin will thin and could cause other problems.
Try washing with a milder cleanser. Use plenty of moisturizer. Then try to find out if there is an allergy.
