BRP and neurontin cream

Mayo clinic diagnosed me last winter with bracioradial pruritis and wanted to start me on either neurontin or one of two other drugs.  My local doctor  was wary of all the side effects and wanted to try a neurontin cream compounded with doxipen and lidocaine.  This combo seems to help some days but other days it makes the itch so much worse.  Has anyone else tried these compounded creams?  What strength and what were the medications involved?  I also tried electrical stimulation, like a TENS unit, with good results the first time I tried it, then continued itching the second time,  Mayo's did x-rays and said I didn't have any compressions.  Something has to help stop this horrible itching!  Any suggestions? Myofascial release? Bowman therapy?  HELP!!!

Hello,
For barchioradial pruritis, no cure has been found. The only thing that seems to help most sufferers is the application of ice to the area until the itch is diminished. Other treatments include cooling lotions like those containing camphor or menthol, capsacain or local anesthetic creams, amitriptyline and gabapentin tablets and electrical cutaneous nerve field stimulation which you have already tried.

Please discuss this possibility and these options of treatment with your dermatologist
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Don't bother--the few dermatologists I have been to have never heard of it---and Rx'ed some VERY expensive creams that did nothing.
