Bruise/Mark on penis shaft

Sorry, uncomfortable topic but I'm having a bit of a heart attack over here, only because I've never seen anything like this... I just noticed this mark on my penis shaft today. It's on the skin (as opposed to under it--if I move the skin the mark moves as well) and is near the base. I'm obviously very protective of this particular region so I'm kind of worried. Any ideas on what this could be (does it resemble any STDs?). I checked and this is the only mark like this.

It looks like bruise penis. Penile bruising can be due to trauma, sexual intercourse, masturbation, sexually transmitted disease, penile injury, skin entrapment in clothing etc. Normally bruising due to non infectious causes would resolve within 8-10 days. Maintaining good genital hygiene, using soft underpants would help. See a urologist if bruising persists after 10 days.

It does just look like a bruise. Keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go away in a couple of days or gets worse contact your doctor. Do not take any blood thinners as this can make internal bleeding worse (ie asprin).
