Hey I have it too and I'm only 15 and, well, haven't quite had sex yet. Thanks heaps, for you guys to come out and talk about it is truly brave of you and please know that you helped someone out.
so i got my results back yesterday. I had them do a herpes select 1 and a herpes select 2 blood test on me. Both of which came back negative. However, my question is, Can I rely on that to be correct? It had only been six weeks since my possible exposure to herpes. He said that my igG number was .15, and that that is pretty low. The thing is that I have felt many of the herpes symptoms that i have read online. I have felt a burning in the area of the spots. I have also had a burning on the head of my penis. I have felt a tingling sensation in my genitals and legs. I have had a bloated feeling in my bladder. The most important symptom has been the clustered bumps on the tip of my foreskin. Anyway, I guess that my questions are:
1. Can a herpes select blood test be trusted 6 weeks after the possible exposure?
2. Is an IgG of .15 low enough (after only 6 weeks) that I don't need to get re-tested?
3. If the bumps that I have are from herpes, would herpes antibodies definitely show up in a blood test.
Thanks so much,
By the way, I don't think that they are perly penile papules, they don't really sound similar. But thank you for your help
Hi,
This could be - pearly penile papules or Fordyce
spots. You would need to consult your doctor for a confirmed diagnosis.
'Pearly penile papules are multiple, small (about 1-3mm) papules running around the circumference of the crown of the glans penis. They typically develop in men aged 20 to 40, and around 10 per cent of all men are affected. They may be mistaken for warts, are not infectious and require no treatment.'
'Fordyce spots are small (1-5mm) bright red or purple papules that can appear on the glans, shaft or scrotum and usually affect younger men. They may occur as a solitary lesion, but frequently appear in crops of 50 to 100. They are painless and not itchy, but may cause embarrassment because of their appearance, or a fear that they might be sexually transmitted. '
