Hello thank you for your reply, the patch on my daughters face has cone right down with using canesten untifungal 2x a day and Vaseline, I think tomatoes irritate it so I am avoiding those. She had this once before aged 3-6 months and it had been away for 2 1/2 years until Christmas when this patch popped up. Thank you again, I'm going to try the antifungal for 3 weeks and if it cones back after stopping I will ask to be refered to a dermatologist.
Hello,
Since the patch comes and goes, the possibility of hives needs to be ruled out. Also dermatitis needs to be evaluated. Maybe your child is allergic to any of the products or foods that she is taking and in that case, I would suggest you to get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
thank you very much for your response, my daughter has not seen a dermatologist yet, generally when I have booked an appointment for the doctor her face looks a lot better, it seems to go in a cycle of red and bumpy then it goes flat then the middle starts to clear and the outer edge is like a roundish ridge almost looking like ringworm, Im getting so sick of it, its been up and down since christmas. Hopefully the doctor will refer me to a dermatologist I have been taking pictures of it at its best and worse. Thank you again
Did a dermatologist diagnose exactly what it was? If an anti-fungal cream helps that might very well be the cause but they might need to find a specific medication that would work on it after diagnosing exactly what it was. Anything that doesn't go away after a certain period of time, worsens or doesn't respond to common over the counter treatments should generally be checked out by a dermatologist.
