What is considered normal healing for injured mole?

I recently accidentally scraped an area that included a large mole (over 1cm in diamter). It is a brown flat mole that is one of those my dermatologist is monitoring for changes over time. The area where the skin came off was pinkish but did not bleed really. It is now scabbed over. I am just wondering as I have to watch for changes, what can I expect once it heals. Will the color of the skin loss area return to brown, remain pink or maybe another color? I understand there will be changes to it now due to the injury, so just wondering what would be considered normal changes as I have been told to report changes immediately to my doctor. Feedback will be appreciated.
