Does fasting and only drinking water get to rid of punworms

I keep reading how people have had pin works for years and nothing seems to get a rid of them

I have not heard of this working to get rid of pin worms- since this is so easily spread, I wouldn't' mess with home remedies.  I would go ahead and get to the doctor for medication.  You will also want to take other precautions to prevent reinfection and spreading to others- things like cleaning the home very throughly (especially vacuuming carpeted areas), shower and change all clothing (underwear etc) each day, clip finger nails short, don't bite your nails, avoid scratching the anal area, wash all clothing and bedding in hot water, clean your countertops and other surfaces that get touched...  all this and the medical should help to clear them up once and for all.
