Your doctor must be reluctant to prescribe it to you because of the above mentioned side effects. Also impotence and decreased libido may occur in patients treated with this drug.

The doc I met is a specialist in this and he said that he does not give this medicine for people who are over 50 years old.
Could you tell why  ? I didn't ask.

Yes Finasteride is used for hair fall but it is not without side effects. Side effects include impotence, abnormal ejaculation, decreased ejaculatory volume, abnormal sexual function, gynecomastia , erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorder and testicular pain.
