hey!
I'm good now!. All the skin felt at some point, i got a bit scarred but now is ok. The skin is bit sensible of course but will probably pass with time. At least looks healthy now. =)
Thanks
Hello,
As the symptoms have appeared suddenly and from the pictures that you have sent,it looks like contact dermatitis or eczema. In addition to the above mentioned treatment, take some oral antihistaminics like Benadryl(causes drowsiness) or Claritin.Application of non perfumed hypoallergenic moisturizer is essential.
Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
Hey!
Thanks for your feedback!
Yesterday when i took a shower i noticed some skin was starting to come off in very small porportions.
Well i decided to call a dermatologist around the area but he asked 200£ just for a check up.. being an international student and i'm always seeying a way to save money and time (as we present ourselves now in examination period) i see my choices a bit limited. Tried to call the local GP but apparently they say its better to see a dermatologist for that case. I was panicking a lot so decided to call my auntie (she works in a hospital) back in portugal to talk with a dermatologist and say what he thinks about it. I took some pics and sent them for the doctors to see, also with the full story and images of the ingredients of the lotions i used. They have said that should be nothing too bad. They said with a bit of nivea cream and washing it with glicerin soap would do. They also said vaseline would do it also but it's worse from the esthetic point of view. They advised to be away from products with perfums, in a way that im taking my bath only with water and that glicerin soap. To be honest it does feel and look better but i'm still very sceptical as i didnt actually was seen 'live' by a doctor.
In my story i forgot to mention that i applied the moisturiser and next day went to play football.. so i was sweting, then i took a shower with a bath gel.
Next day i was noticing this severe dryness of the skin.
i uploaded some pics of the condition in the following website:
http://www.freewebs.com/skincondition/
( those adds on the right are not mine - its google ads )
At the moment i'm still panicking a bit, although slightly better.
I will post again to say wether the condition got worse or better.
Thanks,
Regards
And once again thanks for your feedback. Tell me also if was this that you were expecting from my description.
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to contact dermatitis or loss of adequate moisturisation due to xerosis. Too much soapy water, exposure to harsh chemicals, the normal aging process and certain types of skin diseases are some of the causes of decreased amounts of protective skin oils which in turn causes dry skin.
You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and wear loose-fitting cotton clothing.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash.a mild hypoallergenic moisturizer like cetaphil can also be used.
If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
