Itchy face and Scalp

Hi I suffer from randomly getting an itchy face or scalp. It usually happens after I get out of the shower, but can be random and happen in the middle of the day without me touching any fragrances or anything like that. It looks like little bites almost, I usually get them on my forehead or just on or underneath my jaw, also on my eyebrows and only recently I have had an itchy scalp. It is not bed bugs as I am a clean hygienic person and I have had this condition now for almost 3 years but it seems to be getting worse. I have not been to a doctor or tried any medicines yet, I guess I have been too embarrassed to go to the doctors. Does anyone else experience this problem or know what it could be? Thank you!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The symptoms can be due to cholinergic urticaria. The standard treatment is oral antihistaminics and topical steroids. Oral antihistaminics relieve itching and you can get them over the counter but some of them may cause drowsiness, hence it should be taken under a medical guidance. Topical steroids and oral steroids are available by prescription from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
