Mole On my Back

I went to my doctors about a black round mole on my back I have been getting pain in, he referred me to the dermatologist who said it is fine he has took a photo of it and I have to go back in June but I am worried about it when i touch it it hurts and feeling like a needle going in it and it feels like my back is burning around it.

What should I do??

No it hasnt got any redness or swelling or anything. Yes I have been checking the mole regularly and keeping an eye on it. I will have to wait and see what the dermatologist says when I go back in June but I might ask for a second opinion as there are a few dermatologists there.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Is there any appearance in the mole that may suggest an infection or an inflammation?

Any signs of redness, swelling, disharge from the mole that could have caused this?

Signs of itchiness and pain when associated wih a mole or nevus is not normal and should be further evaluated.

It is best to wait and observe the symptoms right now.You my have to check the mole from time to time and note any significant change. To allay your worries, you may seek a second opinion on this.

It has been there as long as I can remember. I havent scratched the area or hurt it. It feels a bit itchy and hot and sometimes painful. Like I say they have taken a photo of it and when I go back in June he will be comparing it to the mole again but I havent had any problems with it before. The dermatologist has basically told me to go back to the doctors and that it has nothing to do with the mole the discomfort im feeling.

Thanks for your reply

Hi,

Your  mole may need to be closely monitored.

How long have you noted this mole ?

If the mole has been present in the area for quite sometime already and just recently became symptomatic ,this will need further evaluation and close monitoring.

Have you previously scratched the area?

Is this itchy?Did you manipulate the area and could his have led to your symptoms?

Maintain a close follow up with your physician.Ask for medications that may help relieve the pain or any itchiness. It is best to avoid unecessarily touching the area as to prevent further irritation and some infections to occur.
