Mysterious FACIAL Rash/Discharge/Red/Tightness

Hi there- I'm looking for a miracle.  I have been struggling with a mysterious facial infection or rash since right around Christmas '09.  I've never had ANY strange facial skin issues until this time and I am desperate for some help.

A lil BG about me- I've dealt with mild to moderate ECZEMA predominantly on my inner arms and fingers since childhood. Only seems to arise with excessive heat or excessive cold (summer and winter) Never found any real relief- tried every kind of topical ointment and just nothing...

I think I'm very diet conscious for the most part- but at this point I deeply feel that I need to try a DETOX or monitored/strict diet to see if it is just a matter of FOOD ALLERGIES or what... I'm hoping that my first dermatologist appt this Mon 2.1.10 will shed some light on my dilemma.  I tend to do my own research and try holistic approach- but at this point I'm desperate for relief.

What's concerning me the MOST is that I now (for about 2 weeks) have developed a similar rash (like on my face) around my Right nipple.  I have a red "ring" around it that seems to be spreading, and the areola itself ranges from itchy and dry to flakey with some translucent discharge after I've cleaned with warm washcloth.

VASELINE is the only thing that has been providing temporary relief in all these effected areas.

For the past 3 days I have hardly been able to sleep but otherwise feel GREAT and normal! My face is EXTREMELY TIGHT, my cheeks were extremely red but now just feel and look scabby as the yellowish/bleeding has crusted over- its just completely disgusting, uncomfortable and mortifying.  It only seems to be getting worse and I am worried because I have no idea what could be causing this.... ANY info or feedback would be greatly appreciated... Thank you for reading.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it sounds like eczema. Since you have a history of eczema, so definitely this needs evaluation. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
