Newly discovered brown marks on back of thigh??

Hi.  I just noticed a strange spot on the back of my leg.  It looks like an old scar with 2 tiny brown spots on it.  The entire mark measures 3 mm.  I see the derm on Thursday....but was hoping someone may have seen something like this before and have an idea what it may be????  I have attached a zoomed in photo.  Thanks.

Oh...I am 31 years old and have no hx of skin cancer.  Thanks!

Hello,
From the symptoms it can be some harmless hyperigmentation, freckle or lentigo. It is a small, sharply circumscribed, pigmented macule surrounded by normal-appearing skin.
You cannot remove them at home.Cryosurgery using liquid nitrogen and laser are the main treatment modalities.Although there are many skin creams like hydroquinone and salicylic acid, but their use needs prescription .I would recommend a dermatologist’s consultation for this.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Definitely have the Derm assess the site; you are doing the right thing.

I am guessing they are some hyperpigmented areas that are probably benign, but I am no Derm either.

Keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply.  No...I am not in the sun a lot.  Its on the back of my thigh too....so I know its not a place that gets a lot of sun on a daily basis.  I don't recall anything that would have caused a scar there either...which has be baffled.  I have a friend who was just dx with melanoma...so I am freaked out.
