Overheating with exercise (hypothalamus)

Hey All

Any tips on reducing the flushing from exercise.
I'll turn beet red when exercising but as soon as I finish the flush goes; only problem is I can feel my face heating up on my way home then after a warm/cool shower my face will flush for a good couple of hours after.

I've kinda got an idea of my triggers and it all seems to be internal heat related.
I will flush with any form of exercise whether its indoors or outdoors, this type of heat flush only comes on after I have finshed whatever I have been doing.
I flush straight away after spicy food or sometimes after a normal cooked meal at teatime.
Any form of stress causes me to have a flushed look but it does not feel the same as the exercise induced flush.
I have suffered from chronic stress for a couple of years and I wonder if this has had an effect on the hypothalamus, I know this controls body temp and certain hormones.

I never ever flushed before accutane, and these seem to be my only triggers since finishing the lovely poison.

Anybody have any knowledge on the hypothalamus and how this can affect a flush?

Hi Chitchat......love the name :)

I have read up on exercise induced hives but nothing comes up.
Been searching for months to no avail.
I have had numerous blood tests all negative, this is the only thing now I can think off, just not sure how the hypothalamus causes facial flushing (if it does).
When the flushing started it seemed to kick off a number of different flushes.
It started with the exercise flushing, then I started getting anxiety flushing, and then stress flushing.....I know the nerves are involved to a certain extent, but when ppl talk about nerves its usually wet flushing.
I get wet flushing from the anxiety, and I get dry flushing post exercise and the stress part.

Sorry for waffling and thank you for your reply.

Some people get hives from exercise, but this sounds different ... wonder if you do any searches for exercise induced hives if you'll see anything about "flushing".  Keep us posted!
