Penis shaft itch

Ive had an occasional itch on the shaft of my penis for about 3 years. Although difficult to tell where the itch is coming from, I can narrow it down to the size of a quarter just below the head. Visually everything looks normal. Prior to the itch, I had a pimple on this area of the shaft, which I popped between my fingernails. A month or two prior to the pimple, I had unprotected sex with a new partner who claimed to be clean. We had unprotected sex on and off for a year or so after the pimple/itch started. I haven't had any other pimples and the itch didn't spread beyond the area where it first started. Any idea what it could be or how to treat it? My biggest concern is giving it to someone else.
