Pregnancy Mask

How long, after a child's birth, should it take for pregnancy mask to disappear? My baby/toddler is 18 months old and my mask, although faded, is still noticable (my five year old tells me that I have dirt on my face). Are there any dietary changes I should consider?
Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

Melasma often fades over several months after stopping birth control pills or HRT, or after delivering a child. It may return with additional pregnancies or use of these medications.
If it persists, creams containing a combination of tretinoin, kojic acid, and azelaic acid have been shown to improve the appearance of melasma. Occasionally, chemical peels or topical steroid creams may also help. (ref: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000836.htm)
Talk to your doctor which option is best for you. Avoiding the sun and using sunscreen also help  to prevent melasma.

Take care and regards.
