Rash Won't Go Away

My son, age 40, has a rash on his "butt cheek" that just won't go away. He has tried many different creams, ointments,, lotion, etc. Nothing helps. Do you think this could be some kind of fungus? Is there anything that might take this away if it is a fungal infection?

Hi,
it would be best if you could convince him to consult his doctor and get a clinical examination.

Update us on how he is doing  and post us if you need any information.

Regards.

Thank you for your advice. I will tell him to find an antifungal medication and to try the Calamine lotion also. I do know he wears boxers and they are loose fitting. He is also very clean so that is not a concern at all. I have tried to get him to see a doctor, but so far he hasn't seen anyone. I will let you know how he makes out after trying your suggestions. Thank you so much

Hi,

It would be advisable to wear lose, comfortable, clothes and apply some over the counter antifungal medication.

Keep the areas clean and apply calamine lotion at the sites.

He should consult your doctor for a clinical examination and so that appropriate medication can be prescribed accordingly.

Let us know if you need any further information and post  us about how he is doing.

Regards.
