Rash on hand that won't go away

Hello and thank you for your time.

About 4-5 months ago I got a rash on my hand about 2" from the base of my thumb. It looks like a burn and feels like a burn, but it isn't. It is a red to pinkish color, that will get white small bubbles and then start to peal. This happens over and over again. The skin peals after the white bubbles start and it seams as though I have lost many layers of skin. I think that it will be starting to go away and then....Boom the white bubbles will appear and then do the same thing over and over again. I went to my fcp and they had several docs look at it and they said that it looks like a burn. They said that it could be a fungal infection or eczema. They prescribed me triamcinolone 0.1% and told me to apply 2-3 times daily. This has done nothing to help. I originally was putting antibiotic ointment on it and that will seem like it's helping and then it will bubble up once again.

I had a garden over the summer and I originally thought that it was something from my garden like a plant or a spider bite.

1. How long has the rash been there? 4-5 months

2. How long does it take for the individual rash to heal? 5-8 days

3. Do the rashes heal with a black mark? No

4. Is the rash itchy or painful? feels like a burn and it itches when the bubbles reoccur.

5. Are you suffering from any medical illness? No

6. May I know your age? 32

7. Are you on any medication? Prenatal vitamins

I have taken a pic of this if you would like to see.

Thanks,
Nattalie

I am getting it treated as if it might be Lyme disease. But not sure that is what it is.

I'm having the exact same problem. Same location. Interested to hear how you progress. I generally find that doctors do little to nothing and these issues heal on their own with time, but as you noted, not the case with this odd rash. ???

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
On the dorsum of the hand porphyria cutanea tarda may cause blisters and skin fragility and erosions. Other than that, Phytophoto reactions from limes, parsley and celery can also cause blisters on the dorsum of the hand.Erythema multiforme may also cause acral blisters and target lesions. I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get all these causes ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Do get a scraping for fungus. Any pets in the house?(Zoophilic fungi). Clinically looks like a nummular (Coin shaped) dermatitis.
