Rash on penis shaft

Hi,

Hope someone can help me here...About three weeks ago ago I noticed a a small red rash occur on the left side of my penis shaft. I didn't think much about it and thought it was just some dry skin. It healed quickly and disappeared slightly. One week ago it appeared again, and I felt that it was a little bit sore at first, but does not itch or cause any pain otherwise. It healed quickly and left a dry flake on the rash. I visited my GP on Wednesday this week and he told me it did not look like herpes or any STD. The rash had also "calmed down" in terms of how red it was when I first got it.

I can't figure out what this can be. Could it just be dry skin? Yeast infection? I get dry skin on my face and hands during winter.

The last time I had unprotected sex was during the Christmas holidays. I'm in great shape otherwise. No allergies and no health issues. No swollen lymph nodes or other pains (my doctor checked for this).

I've uploaded an image - what you is the lower base of my shaft where the rash has occurred (but now with a dry patch on it): https://anonfiles.com/file/5d353caa6b009fc62a806f7bfc1733dd

I don't know where you live.

But in the UK, you can only get Trimovate on prescription only.
The only side effect is that it can cause thinning of the skin in long term use.  I have been using it for years on and off and was prescribed it by the hospital.

You could try Canesten or Canesten HC cream, which is an antifungal cream that you can buy over the counter at the pharmacist.

Whichever cream you try, apply it for a few days after the skin problem has disappeared.

As well as the antifungal creams, you can also apply moisturiser creams, like E45, Dibrobase, Doublebase, Dermol (which is an antibacterial moisturiser).

Done use soaps and bubble baths or gels as these are harsh and dry the skin.

My doctor gave no real answer to what it could be. He said that rashes can appear on any part of the body, including "down there". Just told me to keep looking out for it and if it blushed up again, I could call in for an emergency appointment which means I could come and see him immediately.

I will try to cream. Are there any side effects with using a cream like this if I don't have anything and it's just dry skin? Thanks for your answer, by the way.

What did the doctor say it was?  Did he give you any cream or ointment?

It looks like an eczema type of problem. Possibly Lichen Planus.
I think you would benefit from applying Trimovate.  This is an antifungal and antibacterial cream.

Do not use any soaps or gels or bath lotions.  You will be OK with baby type bath stuff.
