The lyme disease coinfections Bartonella caused striped rashes. They can look like an animal scratch....several lines in a row, raised, red. Usually mot it by or painful. They come and go. Can also cause rashes that look like stretch marks. Never I had Bart until I did an herbal cleanse from my health food store. Strips showed up. I was surprised but learned the herbals can be used as treatment, and treatment brings out the rash sometimes.
Its called dermagraphia ...skin writing, I have some again .I got it frist a few years ago and eventually it stopped. Now seem back again...recently I took meds anti biotic Bactrim that made me very sick , I stopped taking it after 5 days ...but am still not well and am itching a lot especially the head .So folks my opinion is that the meds we are given make us sick .
I have this exact same thing. I went to the dermatologist last week and paid MEGA-bucks to have her write dematographism down on paper after a 12-minute after a 45 minute drive. She prescribed an anti-itch steroid, but nothing to stop the continual spread of these 2-3 inch single line of small bumps. I am extremely frustrated and I don't dare visit the dermatologist again, because I am afraid that I will just hear the same thing. If you find out more, PLEASE POST!!!! Stay positive. :)

my son has this same issue have you found out what it is yet? its super scary hes 1 years old. i know he had diermititous but its usually in his diaper area. no where else. i noticed that he got a few spots on his arms a few days earlyer but they went away. in less then a day. please let me know...
Do they look like scratches or raised lines? If they are raised they might be dermatographism (which is not causd by the person); if they look like scratches, it could be scabies. Although I think with scabies it wouldn't go away so quickly.
Minor pressure from clothing, chair seats, working with various tools, clapping the hands or energetic kissing, etc., may start up the weals.
Many authors have noted there is an important nervous factor. Attacks of itching and subsequent weals from scratching occur at intervals and may be related to agitation and worrying situations.
Cheers!
This looks nothing like dermatographia. I am not the one causing it. I do not just decide to draw these lines on myself, nor am I scratching myself constantly. No offense but if I get that answer one more time I am going to scream!
Dermographism(Physical urticaria). Not an issue. Do consult doc.
