Redness/Keratosis Pilaris

My general question is there a treatment for KP?
2nd Q: My face is red along my jawline both sides from approximately bottom of my ear to my chin. Is there anyway to reduce the redness to its original state? I have this redness for a long time. Im using Avene light hydrating cream for the dryness. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you

I went to the dermatologist quite a while before I posted this question and I asked if there's anyway I can fix it. His response, "Its just like that, its your skin". -_- Didn't elaborate at all. So i guess I'm stuck with it.

Hello,
Keratosis pilaris occurs when the human body produces excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin. There is currently no known cure for keratosis pilaris, however, there are effective treatments available which make its symptoms less apparent. Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin.
Since the redness on the jaw has been present for such a long time, it is advisable to get it evaluated from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I can't remember the name of the prescription lotion for KP, but I tried it and reacted badly to it.  It's the only one out there that is a prescription.

I wouldn't mind hearing more about this if you find a solution to the KP problem.  I find that with me that the only thing to do for me is to do my best not to irritate the skin where the KP is, such as the backs of my arms.
