SO ITCHYYYYYY

For the last few days I have been incredibly itchy. It keeps me up at night it's so damn annoying. I CANT SLEEP AT NIGHT
I have no rash. my skin is not flaky or dry. Moisturizer does nothing to alleviate the itch. The itch is all over my body. If I try to ignore it, it feels like it's burning and it's so uncomfortable that I start to twitch and jerk as if in pain. It's borderline painful if I don't scratch. It gets worse if i don't scratch

I just moved to a new city and I'm guessing it's the water reacting with my skin. I have no other guesses other than that. Maybe voodoo witchcraft but I skipped the classes of protection against the Dark Arts. I don't know what to do.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From your symptoms, the possibility of scabies is important to be ruled out. It is an infestation of the skin with the Sarcoptes scabiei mite. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.
The usual treatment of scabies is topical permethrin. It is the most effective scabicidal medication. Usually applied overnight and repeated weekly once for 2-3 weeks. The skin should be cool and dry before applying the anti-scabies medications. Avoid taking hot water baths before as this will cause the medication to be absorbed deeper. To be effective, the medication has to act on the superficial layers where the mite and its larvae reside.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I just don't think it is an allergy. Nothing in my diet is any different than what it was a week ago.The only change is my location ... I've noticed my skin felt dryer after each shower. But I haven't seen any flaking, and I've used moisturizer. But the moisturizer does not help with the itch.GAHHHH

If I get an outbreak at work, I will be fired. They last for a long time: 20-80 minutes and it consists of me rubbing my body, asking God WHY OH WHY.  It drives my anxiety through the roof

Similar problem here too, I just posted my own thread a minute ago.

See a doctor, maybe they can refer you to a dermatologist or allergist.

Milk of magnesia or very diluted clove oil (in olive oil) has temporarily helped. I also have OTC cortisone cream they kind of helps but temporarily.

I've done a lot of research on this and a lot of people are clueless but some common themes I've read are 1) it could be scabies (a doctor can do a skin scrape test), 2) it could be a gluten (bread and in most processed foods) allergy/Celiac Disease, 3) it could be Hodgkins Lymphodema/Disease (especially if you have painless inflamed lymph nodes).

Some people have recommended B Complex supplements or sulfur containing moisturizers.

This can also be a sign of liver problems (e.g. hepatitis) but usually you will have jaundice (yellowing of the eyeball whites and skin) and pain in liver area. My blood and liver tests didn't show any problem of this though.

Answers on here take a little time. Its not like Yahoo Answers where it is instant but YA often has a lot of trolls and poor answers compared to here. Wish us both luck!

it has woken me up the last couple of nights at about the same time: 3:30 a.m. i had 1 'outbreak' today that lasted maybe 20-30 minutes. Yesterday at 3:30, the outbreak lasted two hours.
The intense itchiness is over my neck, scalp, both legs, soles of feet, arms, back, butt, face, fingers, palms ... EVERYWHERE!!!

Please help

NO!NO I"m wrong i'm wrong. I'm 4 a.m here and I"m fully clothed with socks, long sleeves and pants. I'm sweating profusely in bed but the itching woke me up it's so bad. Please someone help :(

There are no marks, bumps or anything on my skin. At all. The only red spots are when I scratch and my skin becomes irritated.

Additionally, If I'm wearing clothes that cover a certain part of my skin, that area will stop being itchy
