I reassure my patients and tell them no treatment is required.
hi Jimmy,
I was diagnosed with Schamberg's in Oct 08. Since I didn't want to use topical steroids, I looked into other possible treatment options and found an article about Vit C and Rutoside. "The treatment of progressive pigmented purpura with ascorbic acid and a bioflavonoid rutoside" Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, March, 2006 by Fred Laufer

I tried their regimen, and my Schamberg's went away after about 8 weeks, and I am so grateful. No offense to the dermatologists, but I felt my derm didn't really care. Even though it was benign, the psychological impact is greater. I am a physician myself (although not derm). Good luck!
