Scrape Scrape scar on Face - what is most effectful in getting the redness to fade??

About 25 days ago I was in an unfortunate incident in which my upper cheek and temple got scraped on the concrete.  It was very mild road rash and I kept neosporin on it until it healed and scabbed off just a few days later leaving just pink.  I have fair skin and since it completely healed the redness only appears to be getting slightly worse over the weeks.

What is good to get a scrape scar to fade?   I am going to try Aquaphor but I am not sure whether maybe mederma or vitamin E or maybe just aloe would be better.

Any thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback.   I have started applying vitamin E to the area nightly.    I cannot get azelaic acid without a perscription.   I have an appointment with my dermatologist in a month.  At this point it will be around 10 weeks after the initial injury.  If has not improved I will inquire about the azelaic acid.   Also, are photodermabrasion or microdermabrasion things I should ask about?

thank you again for your help

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This redness is due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Apply creams containing vitamin E or azelaic acid on the scars and if it still persists then you can go in for laser treatment, photodermabrasion or microdermabrasion. Avoid picking, harsh scrubbing, and abrasive treatments unless prescribed by a dermatologist during this period.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
