Strange symptoms, possible Hidrandenitis Suppurativa

I've had a series of strange ailments and I can't seem to figure them out. They started about 6 months into having an IUD, the skyla with levongestral hormone.  I've read that Levongestral is extremely androgenic, and has been a trigger for Hidradenitis suppurativa. It started with random ingrown hairs, then a huge cyst in my panty line (that's never happened before) then some acne on my butt. I was almost always on my period so it was hard to say if it was before during or after my period that symptoms got worse. I went to the Dr because some spots weren't healing, they told me it was simple folliculitis and prescribed and antibiotic. A month later I had a well woman visit and had a full std panel,  which included a herpes dna test by cervical swab. It was negative. I had the iud removed and since then symptoms went down a lot. I had a few flares after removal, particularly a Pilodional Cyst  ( again this has never happened before).
I started the birth control pill and immediately had 3 flares in 4 weeks, they look like a combination between folliculits/herpes. My hair bearing area of my groin and underarms seem to be affected.  It usually starts as very inflamed and itchy. It tends to get swollen but it only has a clear fluid in it, no pus. I almost always see hair coming out of the sores, a pretty clear indicator it's not herpes and that hydrocortisone helps it. I'm at a loss. I did just send a sample of blood off for igG herpes2 testing and waiting results.
I'm confused and would like answers. If it's herpes. It doesn't follow the typical pattern, but does have clear fluid. If it's folliculitis, I don't understand why it's recurring and why it's clear fluid.
When I went birth control free, started taking zinc daily I had no issues.
Does anyone have any answers to what it could possibly be?
