Stretch marks??

Hello

When I was in high school I was fairly skinny but after graduating I started to gain weight rapidly.  My groin area started to grow bigger and caused stretch marks around my groin and scrotum.  Now I noticed that stretch marks on the left groin area near the scrotum began to itch a little so I checked it out.  I started to check down there and in order for me to check, I began to stretch out the area where the stretch marks are at and it felt as I was stretching out the area my stretch marks kind of ripped open.  After that these little ripped openings of the stretch marks stung a little.  I showered and stung a little bit more.  I noticed that the area where the stretch marks are at is a little red.  I want to know if stretch marks can open up if you stretch them out more.  Or can this be an indication of herpes?? I never had any blisters down there just little open sores after I stretched out the stretch marks.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there,
We get stretch marks when the skin is pulled by rapid growth or stretching. Our skin is fairly elastic, when it is overstretched; the normal production of collagen is disrupted. Application of aloe vera may provide relief in itching and burning. Vitamin E oil can help to reduce the appearance of scars. Seek the opinion of a dermatologist for specific diagnosis and treatment. I hope it helps.
Best luck and regards!
