Symptoms for more than 2 months

First, I have seen my GP, and he said it was a virus and then the next visit he asked me why I haven't been treating it. I do not think he has any experience in this area, and we do not get along.

I developed an itchy spot on the right side of my scalp, just above my ear a few months ago. I would itch it, it would flake off, and maybe bleed. I thought it was dandruff. I used a whole bottle of dandruff shampoo, not one day of improvement. THEN about 2 months ago, I got a circular spot on my mid back. It was red with a sort of dry skin look to the center, and itched like crazy (I could not itch it, I could not reach!). Eventually, over the next few weeks I developed more of those posts, but smaller (size of pencil eraser) over my stomach, arms, and back. In the last 4-5 weeks, they have spread to my face, my legs and next and chest. In the last week, I have had 3 canker sores, all in different spots in my mouth.

Any advice?
I REALLY don't think this is: bite of any kind; psoriasis (small dots, do not spread when itch); doesn't look like a rash either. I have no allergies. I started taking adderal, but that was about 1 month after it all started. Other than that, nothing new in my life.

I did some research on pityriasis....seems to be bang on. I remember thinking I was going to get sick about the time it came on, I got really exhausted and had swollen lymph nodes. But, under causes, it says herpes 6 or 7 may be a factor; I received the gardisil vaccination 4 years ago (prior to any sexual activity).

You know, the spots do seem to be worse, increase in redness and itchiness after I wash my face or shower. I don't think I have had a fever. Fatigue is common with me, as I am a student, with low iron and hypothyroidism. I know what ringworm looks that, it is not that.  I researched nummular dermatitis, and I think I have had that before, years ago; it started on my knee caps and upper arms, didn't spread too much, and I found it to be linked to my hockey gear. Once I started layering clothing between my legs and arms and the actual hockey padding, it never came back.

This is something I have never experienced. The spots itch like crazy on my back (I cant reach them). The ones on my face hurt (that may be because i tend to peel the dry skin in the middle off because its on my face). the ones on my legs and arms and stomach and chest itch, but as soon as I scratch one, and the top layer of skin (dry, flaky) comes off, the itch seems to stop.

No puss, no liquid, rare bleeding, they don't spread, just new ones appear in a different spot. My clothes don't irritate them.

Other mitigating factors: I do have hyperketosis pilaris on about 75% of my body, but my skin is not usually flaky dry, just tight if I don't moisturize.

I am allergic to a lot of environmental allergens (highest being grass, mold, dust, and cats).

I take: Adderall XR 10mg, 0.10 mg of thyroxine, and domperidone every morning; i take 10mg pariet, 300 mg Wellbutrin XL, 2000 IU Vitamin D and a multivitamin in the afternoon, and an iron supplement before bed. I have symbicort for my asthma, but take it seasonally.

My skin in very fair (burn VERY easy), with red undertones.

I hope some of this information helps. I can upload some pictures....

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be ringworm, nummular dermatitis or pityriasis rosea. Pityriasis rosea is a common human skin disease which presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and itching. Topical and oral steroids are needed. Water, sweat, and soap may cause irritation and should be avoided in the disease. Topical zinc oxide and calamine lotion are useful for pruritus.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
