Tiny red itchy bumps... ?

Ok so a little over a week ago I started noticing little tiny red bumps here and there on my body. It's not like a rash because it is spread out, for example, I have like one on my pinkie finger, one on my arm, one on my back, one on my ankle... etc. It's soooo spread out! They are very tiny, but very itchy. They are not blisterlike, no puss or anything. They kind of look like pimples... Does anybody know what these could be a sign of???? I thought maybe scabies at first, but from what I understand those are more localized in one area of the body... I have them scattered all over. Any suggestions????

Hi,

It could be eczema, sweat dermatitis, allergic reactions or eczema.

You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .

Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema. Keeping the affected area moistened can promote skin healing and relief of symptoms.

It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for the symptoms and a proper clinical examination to rule out scabies or insect bites.

***I also wanted to add that I am 21, never had any issues with skin conditions before except for hives on my hands when I got stressed. I have reviewed all things including if I have eaten anything different, different laundry detergent, etc. and I haven't done any of these things. Somebody please help! They are driving me crazy!
