Unknown Skin Rash-Spreading!!!

I have a skin rash around the groin. It's all over my inner thighs, around the scrotum, on the penis, and is now traveling upwards toward my abdomen. It first started on the legs and then progressed to the sexual organ. It is now becoming more wide spread. I have been using Neosporin anti-fungal cream. I though I had jock itch or heat rash, but all I see is small, red spots/blotches.

What could it be?

There has been no sexual contact with anyone whatsoever. I often sweat a lot while working due to being in the heat (no direct sunlight exposure, I am inside), especially in the groin region.

I went to a dermatologist and in 2 seconds she knew I had a fungal infection. Of course I had to wait 2 hours to get this diagnosis. So if you have something similar to my picture, tell your dermatologist that you have a fungal infection. It might save you a lot of waiting time. You will be prescribed Naftin, an expensive clear gel. I paid $120 after insurance. The gel seems to work so far. When I apply it, the red spots turn a peach color for a minute, so I guess that's good.

This infection is apparently brought upon by heat and sweat. I don't know where the fungus comes from though. Was it always on my skin or was it in the air or on a surface and somehow latched on? I hope this helps others with a similar problem.

hi,

looking at the picture that you have sent, it appears that you may have one of the following possible lesions: intertrigo, infection, probably fungal or bacterial, sweat dermatitis.

It is important that each of these may be evaluated and ruled out systematically to get a final diagnosis. Further, you must keep hygiene in the area and use clean and dry inner wear. if possible stay indoors and use the airconditioner. You may also take anti-histamines in case of itching, and local application of moisturizers to help with the itching.

Let me know if you may need any further help.
