Eczema like never before

Ok i grew up with Eczema from the age of 2, it was as bad as it gets. Days of not opening my eyes my neck doubling in size, were horrible horrible times, i got through them and now aged 22 i only really suffer from very dry skin.

However for the past year now i have ben suffering from something that i do not believe is Eczema on the inside of my hand, i have been to the doctors and they said it was Eczema but im sure its not. it has gradually got worse and worse and i have another appointment on friday, would just like a few other peoples opinion. I have taking antibiotis which cleared my hand up tottally and got rid of the small bubbles "pomusks" and the redness, i went off them and it came back, the doctor said i just had to moisturise, this doesnt seem to be working. I dont know if it can be seen in the picture, but there are 100's of small fluid filled bubbles on my hand, on top of this once scratched they burst, let out a white liquid which then turns an orangeish colour.

Here are the photos and thanks in advance for anyones opinion, i would also like to add does anyone know of a ream or tablet to make my skin more moist?? My whole body is dry, i wake up and have a bed full of dry skin and my legs are ver scaly. Thanks Again Gary

Hi,

If this skin dryness has been persistent for years, then this may not be something very urgent. However, it does suggest a chronic condition which in your case could be inflammatory as in the case of a dermatitis.

Dermatitis is a chronic non infectious inflammatory condition. This may have an underlying genetic or autoimmune associations. At this point, creams may be helpful but there is no definite medical treatment for dermatitis. If there are any known and identifiable triggers , avoiding these triggers will be necessary. However, this is easier said than done.

You may ask your primary physician if a referral to a rheumatologist or allergologist/immunologist may be indicated.

Hi,

This definitely looks like form of eczema. A primary differential here is dishydrotic eczema wherein it may start as small whitish vesicles (bumps which contain fluid ) .The vesicles may be itchy and this can start an itch scratch cycle .The itch scratch cycle may affect nearby normal skin. This can lead to an eczematous disorder.

As for the generalized dryness, has this been persistent for a while?  Have you been referred to a rheumatologist for an initial consult?

That looks like eczema. Did the doctor give you a script for steroid ointment. You need a powerful one for the hands.
Dermatologists make most of their money off of eczema so they don't bother to tell you to change your diet. Eat a lot of vegetables no red meat or chicken. No citrus fruits and take probiotics.
