What is this scalp problem?

I've attached a picture of my scalp showing circular raised, scaly things.  Does anyone know what this is?

1. how old are you and  sex = 27
2. how long have you had this problem = since I was a teenager
3. is it itchy = yes
4. where in the body do you have the skin problem = scalp
5. Have you had any treatment and has it helped, only to recur = yes, dermasmoothe is the only thing that seems to make it go away everytime, but it comes back after not using dermasmoothe for about a week.  They start out small and gradually grown into a larger circular shape and then overlap each other.  Since dermasmoothe is a steriod, I can't use it for long periods of time.
6. any medical problems in yourself and the family = dad and brothers have dandruff

Thanks.

Hi,

This appears to be either seborrheic dermatitis or fungal infection called tines capitis. You may need more examination and treatment through a visit to your doctor.

Steroid application should be done only with a doctors advise since infections tend to become greater with the steroid. therefore check with your doctor. try to keep the area clean and hair short. also try and not use personal articles which other with dandruff might be using.

let us know if you may need more help.

best regards
