dry skin around the base of the penis

Doc, I have dry skin around the base of the penis and its also has a cut on it. I went
to the local dermatologist and he gave me a cream called (Desonate.) The cream worked
fine for about 2 weeks and they dryness returned. At this point I have a cut on the trunk and
on the base, what do you recommend...is there an over the counter cream? I also tried Aquaphor cream
that is just like a band aid for comfort.

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis,rash due to friction rub with clothes,xerosis or eczema.

The mainstay of management is liberal use of moisturizers after washing with luke warm water. Soap should be used minimally. Moisturizers should be reapplied liberally during the day.You can also use a topical cortisone (steroid) cream or ointment like dermacort(hydrocortisone). Adding a humidifier to the central heating system of your home or using a humidifier also helps.

If still the symptoms do not improve then pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.

if you have been having sex without a condom, this usually happens but don't worry about it, it should be okay just try not to masterbate for a week and it will scar up and dissapear mean while rubbing plain moisturiser usually works. like e45 cream
