facial Warts

45 yo male with no history of medical problems. Go to the gym 5 times a week. 4 weeks ago had a small bump two days after shaving. Showed up near my adams apple. Now have many little bumps and that first one has gotten bigger and looks like a big wart. The smaller ones are strating to get bigger. All are on the left side of my face only. I suspect that they are flat warts. I have a dermatologist appointment in two days. I tried to pick off a couple and they did bleed so I am assuming they are warts. They are all in the area where I shave so I am assuming they are spreading because I am shaving. Thankfully they have not gone any where else but on my face. I have no idea where I got them, maybe from the gym.
My questions which I have are the big one I am assuming will need to be biopsied? I have no idea on how to get rid of all the little ones. I still need to shave everyday or I could let my beard grow but I do not want big warts all over my face under my beard. Most people say they go away on their own but how long will it take? Will I pass these on to my girlfriend when we kiss or cuddle. I feel terrible. I did not try any over the counter therapy because they are on my neck and face. Figured I better wait until the dermatologist sees me. Any help would be so appreciated.

Thank you so much for your input. I went and saw a dermatologist who confirmed that it was facial warts that spread with me shaving. We treated them with cryotherapy and froze 23 warts. I stopped shaving for two weeks and they healed up nicely. Three still remain and I am about to go back for one more treatment. He also gave me a prescription of tretinoin gel 0.01% to use if they should come back. Have a great day.
George.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Warts may go away on their own but it may take several weeks. For small warts, several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation.

In my opinion you should talk to a cosmetologist/dermatologist about this and get these warts evaluated.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
