I didn't find any bleeding or anything. it just itches. I try not to scratch it. But can it go away on it's own?
Hello,
From the description of your symptoms it sounds like external haemorrhoids. It is due to swelling and inflammation of veins in the rectum and anus. Increased straining during bowel movements, by constipation or diarrhea, may lead to hemorrhoids.
Symptoms of external hemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus which may itch.Treatment includes sclerotherapy, rubber band ligation, cryosurgery or Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy.Pls consult a surgeon and get it evaluated.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Hi,
Are there other signs or symptoms present? Hemorrhoids or piles are swelling and inflammation of veins in the rectum and anus. This is usually attributed to increased straining during bowel movements, by constipation or diarrhea, medical conditions such as hypertension, pregnancy, obesity, and even sitting for prolonged periods of time can cause hemorrhoids. It presents with bright red blood covering the stool, on toilet paper, or in the toilet bowl. An internal hemorrhoid may protrude through the anus outside the body, becoming irritated and painful. On the other hand, symptoms of external hemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus that results when a blood clot forms. Excessive straining, rubbing, or cleaning around the anus may cause irritation with bleeding and/or itching.
I would recommend that you have this evaluated further by your doctor. A complete medical and physical examination are needed to reach a diagnosis. Many anorectal problems, including fissures, fistulae, abscesses, or irritation and itching, also called pruritus ani, have similar symptoms and are incorrectly referred to as hemorrhoids. Drinking plenty of fluids and eating food rich in fiber may also help.
Take care and do keep us posted.
