indentation in buttocks after injections. will it go away???

About 4 months ago, I started getting severe migraines. During the whole thing, I was recieving lots of injections for pain. They ended up linking it to a problem with my ears and also gave me a kenalog shot for severe allergies that were aggravating it.

This morning, I got out of the shower and noticed a huge indentation where I recieved almost all of my injections and it feels like there is no muscle at all. Will this ever go away? Its very depressing :( Is there anything I can do to speed up the process of it going back to normal? Collogen boosters? lotions? massage? please please help me.

Hello,
Indentations are a very frequent side effect of kenalog . These indentations which have formed after kenalog injections can take upto 6 months to heal and fill in when collages in formed but sometimes it may take longer or less depending on the depth of the indentations and the response of the skin. If they persist then you can get collagen filling and laser resurfacing done.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I also have an indentation after receiving a steroid shot in my buttock area. This has been there awhile now at least 6 months ago. I had addressed this with the nurse months later and she stated that I had no muscle in that area and that's what caused this. I am not overweight and walk all day so I am puzzled why this had happened. I don't see it because of the location of the indentation but my husband does and it infuriates him to say the least.
