how can i treat this?

Hi i am a swim instructor for 1years and i work in the pool 4-6 times a week. After a certain period of time i started noticing pink/red spots on my hands, armpits and now its spreading on my arms and legs. It is infact a little itchy and uncomfortable. Is this from the pool? Can this be treated with any otc creams or lotions or should i see a dermatologist for prescription creams?

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be pityriasis rosea. It presents as numerous patches of pink or red oval rash. The rash may be accompanied by low-grade headache, fever, nausea and fatigue and sometimes by itching.

I suggest you to get an examination done from a dermatologist. The other possibilities of nummular dermatitis and ringworm(very itchy) also have to be ruled out.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.

I made an appt and it turned out to be pityariasis rosea. Looks like it will be take a couple weeks to heal but hopefully the cream will relieve the itching. Thanks for your help and advice.
