light spots

I have been using some products from a cosmetic/dermatology center.  I have been using the products for about three weeks.  I wash my face with a in house cleanser followed by clydamicine pleddgets , followed by a prescribed vitamin C serum solution that includes hydroquinone and then sunscreen in the morning.  At night I use another prescribed multi-vitamin serum and every other day Retin A followed by hydroquinique before betime on  the dark spots.  The products seemed to be working just fine until about 3 to 4 days ago.  I have now notice lighter patches on my face and I am concerned that they will not return my skin to it's regular color.  I went in to see the doctor and was told to stop using the pleddgets and that the color would come back. She told me to stop everythng for a few days and I was given hydrocortisone cream 1% to use until I begin the regimine again .What  can the light spots be a result of ?  Can you share your thoughts with me.

Hello,
You can apply the sunscreen prescribed to you. Make sure to apply the sunscreen atleast half an hour before going out in the sun.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I was told to use sunscreen.  Do you think that it might prevent those areas from returning to its regular color again or should I use the sunscreen anyway??

Hello,
These light spots can be due to post inflammatory hypopigmentation patches due to usage of the chemicals.  Post inflammatory hypopigmentation is very difficult to treat but sometimes it goes away on its own after exposure to the sun. If the symptoms persist then please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
