lip peeling for about 8yrs

sir,
i am V(dont want to reveal my name) from kerala, india.I am uses to this lip peeling a lot.first of all i will tell u the history.it almost started in the year 2002.When i was studying in my 10 standard in 1999,i used to pull out the skin, when it gets chapped and i think it became a habit for me&later i began to pull it out without getting chapped& finally began to bleed.inspite of that still i began to peel.during that time i am ignorant& after my 10 standard, this habit has gone off,and later when i was preparing for my medical entrance in 2002,the skin of my lips started to peel off layer after layer, first time there was a thick layer peeled off,and about 3or 4 thick layer of skin peeled off after that, later lower lip becomes sticky and newly formed layer off skin is not staying there. when it comes and will peel off within 3or 4 days and this is still continuing. it is about 8yrs now.during this period i have consulted many doctors(modern medicine, ayurveda as well as homeopathy).i have got no relief. its still peeling off.actually my lip has become pinkish in colour&i am ashamed to face the public with this going on.i want to hear from u, whether this is due to the incident happened during my 10 standard or due to something else.i want to also know from u, is there a remedy for this( medical or surgical ). please help me if possible from this horrible situation& inform me as early as possible.i will be extremely happy if there is an alternative for this
yours sincerly
V

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From your symptoms the possibility of cheilitis can be due to atopic dermatitis. Cheilitis(Inflammation of the skin on and around the lips)is often seen in atopic dermatitis.Diagnosed by bld test like RAST. Treatment is by topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases.Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment and pimecrolimus cream are also useful but they are available under prescription.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing

hello mam,
actually i have consulted a leading skin specialist in trivandrum, kerala named Dr yogiraj(dr yogiraj centre for dermatology& cosmetology).first of all i did a blood test(ANA&ANTI DS DNA)and it was negative, later done biopsy on his advice suspecting DLE&was negative(it shows only some mild spongiosis&there is no vasculitis or basal cell degeneration).he told me sometimes it is due to some cell irritation caused due to my previous history when i peeled the skin.i used medicines like lycodon cap, kenacort ointment, minovit cap,T ND cort,T Hydroquin, exerge cap, H H sone, pacroma oint(pimecrolimus),benalgis tablet etc during the period of treatment(about 10 months).i used pimecrolimus oint for about 3 months.is this a good period for treatment.now i have stopped  the treatment because there is no relief during this period.can u advice me a particular  hospital or a particular physician where i can have a good relief for this problem& i request u  whether there is any surgical or alternative solution for the same.
thanking u
