persistant chapped lips

My lips have always been a bit dry, but chapstick always heals them right up.  Recently they have been chapped for a couple months now with little relief.  I've tried all kinds of product, asked the pharmacist, and increased my water intake as well.  Any more suggestions?  Thanks.

Thank you for the tip- I don't think I've actually tried just vaseline- but no, I'm not on any meds and I've stopped using practically all face products trying to solve this.

Have you changed any meds you are on?  Allergy pills? Decongestants? Acne creams or meds? Face products? Any of those can cause drier lips. I use good old vasoline when mine get bad.  I was on Accutane for a while for acne that dried my lips to a crisp and cracked them badly and kept gobs of vasoline on them. There's nothing better than vasoline! AND it's cheap. Good luck!
