pink 'scars' on shaft after cryotherapy (warts)

hello doctor,

I'm a 24 yr old white male.

in nov '09, i noticed what looked like folliculitis on the shaft of my penis. didn't look into it much because it happens quite often. after the swelling dropped i noticed a 'skin tag'.. fast forward saw a doc in feb'10 and said it was a wart and gave me condyline (equiv to condylox). that didn't work so 2 weeks ago i went back to her, this time with 2 big warts and about 15 tiny ones... she decided to freeze them off.... its been 2 weeks now, they're not back, but instead i have pink spots all over my genitals.  so my question isnt about warts, and not really about scars either as i dont have 'scarred' skin.. just pink new skin. (maybe have 2-3 tiny scars but i can live with that).

here are my questions:

1- do the pink spots ever regain natural pigmentation? do they stay pink or become depigmented spots later?

2- can you give me an estimate of how long it takes for skin to regain its original color, if it ever does?

3- is there is a creme i can apply to these areas to help reduce scars and discoloration?

thank you in advance for your reply.

side note: i dont have a tendency to scar unless the cuts are deep. if the cut is skin deep it turns pink then regains natural pigmentation over time.

Greetins Dr. Kaur,

thanks for the response. however, i dont know if you are affiliated with medhelp, or such but i do see that you are an MD. if you could please give me a background to authenticate your post, i would much appreaciate it.

ive noticed that youve posted a few responses with such treatment  options. after looking for information about the procedures you prescribe, i dont really understand what they are... would you please give information as to what they entail?

respectfully yours.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Such pink spots after cryotherapy, Creams like  Elidel cream or Protropic can be used on these hypopigmented  areas but on the delicate area of penis, it is not advisable to use them without a dermatologist’s guidance. If the symptoms still persist then  you can talk to your dermatologist about laser-assisted chemabrasion(LACA).

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
