Go see a dermatologist because they can tell you for sure and if it is some type of body lice thing (mine would go away but pop up on other spots too) it's treated with a simple cream.

It could be a couple of things.

My first thought would be you may have an allergy of some kind that's causing this rash.

around the time the first spot showed up, had you changed brands of detergent, body soap, type of clothing (like switching from cotton to rayon)??

You said it's itchy and has spread. Its always possible that you could have gotten body lice. I know they like to go between fingers but when I got it years ago after a brother brought it home from school I had red spots/bumps all over my back and legs and other areas that itched horribly. Body lice isn't so much of a taboo subject anymore. you can get it by getting contact from someones clothes, brush, or other easy areas.

My suggestion would be for you to get in to see a dermatologist to get looked at, and have the spots tested. You can always go to the Ask an Expert part of the site.
